So ambassador Chris Stevens came into Benghazi because there was a pilot got lost and he got saved by a villager so ambassador Chris Stevens wanted to honor him for saving the lost pilot. Consulate had its own security team that
Was not good it wasn’t us military. The consulate was around 8 acres and they had 5 diplomatic security officers on 8 acres to protect the ambassador it’s way inadequate because 5 guys who have a some weapons can’t protect the ambassador. About a mile away from the consulate was the annex that’s where the CIA facility was. The annex was about a football field long. There were 6 security guards and 20-ish people that they were protecting like case officer, cooks, maintenance guys. “Oz” went with a female case officer for a so call dinner date around 5:30 with a local Libyan couple at 9:30 “Oz” got a phone call from Tyrone woods he was team leader a said to OZ you need to get to the annex and stay away from the consulate. Someone from the consulate got on the radio and says “ if you don’t get here now we are all going to die. “The chief” heard the call and Tyrone told the chief it was a rescue mission to suicide mission and the chief said stand down so the team made a Executive decision to go to the consulate. After the consulate got overrun by 40 Insurgents so the team to had to fall back to the annex
Because they had to protect 20 other people so they set up a ambush so the team can get a good attack on the Enemy. The fight lasted for 13 hours and aftermath two GRS officers KIA and ambassador Chris Stevens also KIA and USAF officer KIA.
